Headline:

Very cold. Icy in places this morning. Most areas cloudy.

Today:

Widespread, locally severe frost this morning in the south. Generally a very cold day with a little light rain and snow in places, along with icy stretches on some roads. Most places cloudy, although some sunshine here and there.

Tonight:

Most of England, Wales, Northern Ireland and southern and eastern Scotland, dry, cold and misty with a widespread frost, and also some fog patches. Northwestern Scotland, milder with patchy rain.

Thursday:

Most parts will start cold and misty and there will be fog in places. However, as the day progresses many areas will brighten up. Northwestern Scotland, milder and mainly cloudy.
